Voice VPN/IPsec
Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) has become the call control protocol of choice for VoIP networks. However, the integrity of call signaling between sites is of utmost importance, and SIP communications are vulnerable to attackers when left unprotected.
Telinta's hosted PortaSwitch fully supports Virtual Private Network (VPN) infrastructure to secure VoIP communications. For carrier interconnection, Telinta will provision direct IPsec tunnels between the customer's PortaSIP switch partition and the carrier's equipment, ensuring transparent secure signaling required by carriers such as Verizon Business and British Telecom when operating over the public internet. For retail clients, Telinta can provision L2 VPN (PPTP and L2TP) tunnels for encrypted connection with end users, ensuring communication privacy and overcoming any SIP blocking measures between end users and the PortaSIP servers.
